We’re raising a glass to a major milestone: the 2023 Veramar Rosé Chambourcin has just been awarded 89 points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, becoming the 101st wine crafted by our winemaker, Justin Bogaty, to earn a score of 85 points or higher from this nationally respected publication.

Why This Matters

In the world of wine, Wine Enthusiast ratings are a benchmark of quality—trusted by buyers, sommeliers, and wine lovers across the country. A score of 85+ points signifies a wine that is very good to excellent, and getting just a few of these ratings is a source of pride for any winemaker.

But 101?

That’s something extraordinary.

To put it into perspective: in the culinary world, it’s like earning over 100 Michelin Stars across your career. It’s the kind of recognition that very few reach—especially winemakers operating outside of powerhouse regions like Napa or Bordeaux. We estimate that fewer than 1% of U.S. winemakers have achieved this level of consistent national acclaim. And for a small, independent, Virginia-based winery group to reach it? It’s nearly unheard of.

Spotlight on the 2023 Veramar Rosé Chambourcin

This newest award-winning wine is a celebration of spring in a glass. Crafted from 100% Chambourcin grown in the Shenandoah Valley, this rosé isn’t just another pretty pink bottle—it’s layered, aromatic, and refreshingly complex.

Here’s what Wine Enthusiast had to say:

“This rosé is not just deep in color but also broad on the palate with viscous texture. Cherry and bruised peach take center stage here. On the palate, Mandarin orange and ginger exude. It is a peek of spring in a glass. While easy-drinking, it moves beyond quaffable and could easily be paired with a spring roasted vegetable salad. Roasted rhubarb salad, anyone?” – C.G.C.
Rating: 89 Points | ABV: 14%

It’s elegant, structured, and food-friendly—meant to be savored, not just sipped.

A Milestone for Virginia Wine

This award is a win not just for Veramar, but for the entire Virginia wine industry. It proves that serious, world-class wine is being made here—bottle after bottle, vintage after vintage.

We’re honored to reach this milestone and incredibly proud of the talent and passion behind every wine we produce. Come visit us at Veramar Vineyard and try the rosé that pushed us over the 100 mark. Here’s to the next hundred.
