From Passion to Prestige
The journey of Bogati Bodega began with Della and Jim Bogaty, who ventured into the serene Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the early 1990s. Originally seeking a retreat from the bustling corporate world, the couple purchased a farm estate near Berryville, Virginia. With a nod to Jim’s familial roots in Italian viticulture, they planted grapevines on a whim. This small hobby blossomed unexpectedly into a fervent passion for winemaking.
The Birth of Bogati Bodega
In 2010, inspired by a transformative family trip to Argentina, the Bogatys opened Bogati Bodega. Captivated by the vibrant Argentine wine culture, they sought to infuse similar energy and passion into their own Virginia winery. The name “Bogati,” with its distinctive ‘i’ at the end, serves as a homage to the Latin influences in new-world winemaking, blending seamlessly with the Bogaty family’s deep Italian winemaking heritage.
A Commitment to Quality and Tradition
Bogati Bodega was crafted with the intent to honor and sustain old-world traditions while embracing the potential of Virginia as a prime winemaking region.
